Writing has been my hobby since middle school. What started as a creative outlet slowly developed into a tool for practicing my science communication (SciComm) skills and absorbing new knowledge on scientific topics that interested me.
As a PhD student, I became a freelance editor and writer for the SciComm website Facts&Reasons, a platform that dispelled common myths in science with evidence-driven, short-form articles. After publishing my first article, I was immediately promoted to the editorial team, where I gave feedback on junior author submissions to ensure clarity and scientific accuracy. Adhering to publication deadlines and working as part of the editorial team gave me valuable insight into my own writing style, strengths and areas for improvement, especially under time pressure. I was happy with my personal growth from this experience, and plan to continue publishing my work here on my website.
Future articles will center around the topics of continuing education and health communication to exercise my skills communicating with medical professionals.
