What would happen if we viewed science not as a nebulous collection of data, but as a language just like any other? When approached with empathy and curiosity, all science can be communicated - from basic biology to clinical studies.

A great passion of mine is seeing the "aha" moment when the message clicks. In five years of leading diagnostic research projects at a key genetic testing facility in Switzerland, I've seen the power that clear communication has on patient lives and steering collaboration in the right direction.

Who am I?

While studying abroad at the University of Queensland (Australia) during my Bachelor's degree, I took an introduction to genetics course that completely changed the direction of my career. I had found the cutting-edge medical field that I wanted to make a difference in. Since then, I have successfully defended my PhD in Medical Genetics and now work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Medical Genetics (University of Zurich, CH).

Whether through writing, gardening or traveling, I enjoy observing and documenting the world around us.

Professional experiences

As a specialist in rare disease research, I am responsible for diving projects aiming to improve outcomes for prenatal diagnostic testing. I lead discussions at the interface between clinicians, academic researchers and in vitro diagnostic teams to ensure all research goals are aligned with our patients as the top priority.

Curious, motivated and solution-oriented, I thrive in environments where science is used as the lingua franca for collaboration and stakeholder engagement. I aim to transition into a role where I can leverage my biomedical expertise and familiarity with Good Clinical Practices to continue having a positive impact on patient lives.

Science writing

I use writing as both a creative outlet and way to drive my curiosity about biomedicine by digging deep into new topics of interest. As a PhD student, I became a freelance editor and writer for the science communication website Facts&Reasons, a platform that dispelled common myths in science with evidence-driven, short-form articles.
